1:21 Mountain Narratives — Yunxiao Wang From Liuli China Museum

Using glass as the artistic medium, the artist explores a unique painterly texture. Beyond color, the work incorporates a sense of spatial depth, creating an artistic language that combines visual impact with subtle emotional nuance. The inspiration originates from the mountainous landscapes surrounding the artist’s home—the undulating peaks and layered misty summits, whose shifting appearances across different times and spaces form the core elements of the work. Through the layering of colors and the delicate interplay of light and shadow, the work captures the passage and continuity of time, allowing viewers to sense the changing seasons and the irreplaceable flow of life within a tranquil visual experience.

The transparency and haze of glass imbue the work with a dreamlike, ethereal atmosphere. Light passing through the glass gives the mountain imagery a sense of breath and vitality, conveying a quiet yet profound inner strength. The material also symbolizes the coexistence of fragility and resilience in nature, reflecting the dynamic balance and rhythm inherent in life’s landscapes. In this work, glass serves not only as a medium of expression but also as a perfect vessel for emotion and poetic resonance.
