0:57 Contrepoint From Liuli China Museum

     |     EN

Contrepoint is derived from the Latin punctus contra punctum, which means "point against point". When used in music theory, it becomes “note against note”.

Traditionally, it is an old and very ambitious method of writing music whereby separate songs are written to be harmoniously interdependent. Mimicking this concept, Pâte de Verre similarly requires proficiency in multiple fields of artistic creation.

One must be a master of sculpturing, casting, molding, polishing, temperature control, color placement, and glass chemistry. Every etched detail, every bubble in each piece of work, every curve tangled with light assembles an elegant melody that outsoars the individual notes.
