Started as an experiment in high school, working in glass as an art medium has become an important occupation for Jay Musler. Born in 1949 in Sacramento, California, he has working with ceramic before entering into glass art. He studied at the California College of Arts and Craft, in Oakland. His works has been extensively exhibited in the United States and Japan. He considers that the most important evolution in this field is that “the attitude of glass is being slowly accepted as an art form rather than a production item.” In his works he infuses a sense of purpose and own statement.
His works are present in many important public and private collections, such as the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art in Sapporo, Japan, and the Los Angeles County Museum in California.
